There's no such thing as 'normal' because every baby differs. My lad was about 10 months before his first tooth. He's 18 months now and still only has 6!!

My baby didn't get her first tooth until she was over 1 year old, so don't worry.

I already had her signed up with a dentist, who suggested that I bring her along every six months for a "check up" so she could get used to being at the dentist. When she was there for her check up at about 11 months, I asked him to check and he said he could feel all of her teeth forming under her gum. So if you're still worried, you could ask your dentist to check him over.

As my dentist told me, there is an upside to this. The longer baby's teeth stay in his gums, the less time they're exposed to the acid environment of the mouth. And it's more likely that your baby's adult teeth will come through later as well - and, for the same reasons, are likely to remain healthier for much longer.

normal varies with each child.

my young men got teeth around six to nine months. I have a friend who's little one had a sweet little gummy smile until he was right at one year old and then he suddenly developed a mouthful of teeth.

the most important thing is to keep the mouth clean. you can rinse off the gums with a moistened washcloth. If you are still concerned, ask your GP or a local dentist to check for the health of your baby's mouth and tooth buds.

Yes, very normal. My son didn't have teeth until 7 months when he got 2 front ones but no others until he was 12 months so they all vary!

After 18 months and there is still no teeth then see your health visitor.

yes this is fine don't worry at least when he is a bit older you can give him medicine to help with the pain. if he gets to 18 months old and still has no teeth take him to your health visitor. I'm sure he will have some then good luck for when that day arrives and if you live in the UK try Ambesol for help with the pain you can get it from boots.

is it a girl or boy sometimes it can be but if your baby is cranky recently nearly most of the time it means that your baby's teeth are on the way. if they don t start to come within the next two months bring him or her to your nearest dentist to find out more info.
