GM junk is just that. I had my first new car (a Chev S10) in 2001. It was pretty good for about 6 months then the 4 wheel drive went out. The dealer said it was a solenoid inside the front axle, NOT A WARRANTY ITEM. About $500.00 later it was working again. Then it began to blow a 3 amp fuse about twice a month. Dealer couldn't find the problem, but I had to pay anyway. then the plastic door handle broke due to its being very fragile and not suitable for a door handle. NOT A WARRANTY ITEM. Wiper delay quit, & U guessed it, NOT A WARRANTY ITEM. Lower ball joints on both sides at 10000 miles, yep, NOT A WARRANTY ITEM. Rear brake disks at 20000 miles...NOT A WARRANTY ITEM. Heater quit, NOT A WARRANTY ITEM.. What a piece of junk. I traded to Ford and will never own another GM product.
Almost forgot, check engine light came on, dealer said there was an air pump gone bad, estimate was $350.00 plus parts. NOT A WARRANTY ITEM..... and I had paid for their "bumper to bumper" extended "warranty"..turns out it didn't cover anything that broke.
POS....GM sµcks!
BTW, I complained to GM corporate..no answer at all, not even a "this is a dealer issue" form letter. Only thing I got was on a Chevy spam list.

I don't know what your beef is with GM, but your story is full of false statements!
If you aren't old enough to rent a car, then you don't get one.
If you are super high risk to insure, then you don't get a car.
General Motors just posted their financial results for 2006 and they made a big profit.
GM Just had a huge jump in customer ratings and is at the very top of the list in most categories.
I think you made up the story because you hate America, and American products!
I would put any Ford, Chrysler or GM product up against any rice burning hand grenade car any day of the week.
Don't you keep informed about quality ratings of cars and trucks? You'd be very surprised how low such makes as Mercedes, and Jaguar rank.

well, i've owned many GM cars, pontiacs included, and they've been some of the most dependable cars i've ever owned. many of these vehicles have had 150K miles plus. i think you had a bad experience, for sure. i'm not saying GM or Pontiac is the best thing out there, but i sure have a great deal of good luck with them.

that is open to personal experience but i love my pontiac, nothings wrong but the normal maintenance issues . i dont have a problem with getting service at my GM dealer and whenever i needed road side assistance i got it quickly so no not all gm or pontiacs are garbage. no car company or car itself is perfect. all of them have problems at some point.

I pay taxes to the US government, now the proud proprietor of two/3 of a bankrupt vehicle organisation, so specific i would be paying for a GM vehicle over here few years, no count number if i opt to or no longer. of path i will on no account actual acquire the motor vehicle, yet i visit be figuring out to purchase it. As for actual being silly sufficient to voluntarily purchase a vehicle from government automobiles, no longer on your life, we are quickly to income why there are not extra Trabants and Ladas on American highways.

No, I love my Pontiac. Plus I get roadside assistance from AAA so I don't need GM Roadside Service.
