I had the same problem with Nortons. I've got Windows XP and I was always getting those warnings also. On my Windows 2000 I got the same warnings. I figure that the Security of Microsoft Windows doesn't recognize Nortons Internet Security or both Security Systems are working against eachother. At any rate you should have only one anti-virus and one firewall working, not both systems at the same time. Try disengaging the Windows Security System and if that works then you fixed the problem. [be careful because its there for a reason] But you have to take out one or the other offline before it bungs up your system.

I stopped using Norton's 3yrs ago and won't ever go back. I use avast antivirus and Zonealarm as the firewall. Both are still free. Avast is self updating and free for home use. Anyone I know who's had Norton's has had major issues both with it not working right and uninstalling it. One person recently spent 3 days with tech support just to get his computer back up and running due to the problems Norton's caused. Dell told me after I get my PC to uninstall McAfee so I would not trust either for protection. Where I work has McAffee...and we have been nailed 4 times with plant wide shut downs because it could not do what it said. I don't need anymore proof to go with the free stuff. I do know the state of NY was switching all their PC protection to Avast. Do yourself a favor...get out while your PC still can...

My best advice is Uninstall Norton and get some free Adware from Lavasoft.com or AVG Spyware. Norton is nothing but a money hungry pain in the butt anymore. I got rid of it 2 years ago and have been a happy camper ever since....

Most likely this means your antivirus software is out of date. Depending on which Norton, it is possibly for automatic updates. Go into Norton, which probably has a help file, and update your Norton.

Throw Norton in the trash! Just like the others have said here!
this is just one small headache that this software will cause you on a long road of cursing and believing that it's you and not the software, pitch it now and never look back!
