buy the large packs if you can works out a little cheaper about £8.99 each or sometimes 2 for £16.00 at Boots and Superdrug.Smaller packs are about £6.00.A couple of friends use nappies from Lidl and there better than huggies apparently....don't know the price of those.

They vary and many times you can get decent offers in the supermarkets.
I have found Aldi's own brand nappies great and the cheapest - £5.19 for 48 (the amount decreases slightly as they get bigger).
I'd get Pampers new born ones then experiment with different kinds.

your best bet to find the best price on nappies in your area is to let your fingers do the walking in your phone book. Check your area markets and make a list of ALL types of baby supplies that you will need: nappies, talcum powder, lotion, etc.
price shopping and being willing to skip fashion for function can save you a bundle of cash on your precious bundle of joy.
also, look for coupons in local papers, online and through local chemist shops.
we found the store brand every bit as effective and absorbant as the high priced nappies and they were much more cost effective. it's not like you are keeping them anyway unless you plan to use cloth nappies and wash them.
and in that case, I would recommend finding a service that will bring them to you and take them away for professional cleaning.

It seem sby your use of of the word nappie you arent american, but in american they vary. On average a pack of diapers cost about $17. Luvs and Supremes are great diapers and much more affordable at about $10 a pack. A pack of diapers usually last about a week. These little babies are expensive arent they? Good luck and congrats
