HP Special Edition, AMD Turion 64 X2 Mobile Technology, TL-56 model: dv6258SE. I am no beginner with computers, I have two PC's to the same router for cable connection...I tried ethernet from router (3rd computer than), and it did not work....I have a weak wireless connection through the LynkSys router with my notebook. Why can't I just plug in the ethernet cable into the notebook, and it work? When it is plugged in it says that a cable is not plugged in...but eveything is plugged in! Thanks alot....Bill

Try a different ethernet cable.

If that doesn't work, Call HP tech support.

You are trying to run two connections, one wireless one hard cabled.
Try one or the other

First of all turn on the wireless button on the laptop

Check Whether TCP/IP in Network Connection Properties is enabled. If not checked Please check that
