Hello girls, I have had a copper coil (not to be confused with a Merina coil) for approximately 3 years. I get extremely heavy periods which last for 10 days. I knew that this would be a side effect but am really struggling now - feels like I have a period all month with all the horrible associated symptoms! If you have one, what are your experiences and what is it like having one removed - painfull? I would really welcome your comments. Thanks for your time.....

I had a regular coil, and like you, had horrendous periods so I changed to the Mirena which is fantastic. Removing the coil was no big deal at all, it was pretty much the same as having it inserted ie. uncomfortable and undignified but hardly painful.

I had the copper coil for a few years also and experienced heavier periods and frequent cramps and when i got it removed it was just uncomfortable not painful at all , its definitely not as bad as it sounds ..

im not sure but I had sex with this woman once and something sharp hit my bell end as I thrust, it hurt !! and it also hurt her because she screamed (I dont think it was pleasure). Cant you go on the pill??
