It would hurt the careers of those who won before...
It's basically saying..of all the American Idols.. this one is the only worth a recording contract...
Bad Idea

Hmmmm, I don't know Dawg....I can't even imagine some of the past contestants coming back to do a show like this. And would it even be open to all previous contestants? You have people like Frenchie, she was asked to leave....Mario Vasquez (I think is his name) that chose to leave on his own; or so thats what everyone said about him) Just about every season has had at least one person, that was asked to leave because of something in their past that wasn't revealed to the show in the very beginning.
I think there are too many people out there....that just have no love for American Idol, besides the obvious 30+ million that watch every show.....for this to happen.
Btw......I agree about Survivor having a great All Stars season....love that show too!

Wow !
what a well thought out question, cuddles to you for it :)
I think it would be VERY interesting IF .. The producers would take the top 5 of all the seasons together, for one big
Idol competition, and the winner would get a new car, a donation for their Favorite charity, and be the OPENER for a
huge musical icon ( be it group/solo artist ) I'd like to address the Big wigs on this ... could you imagine this trio
Melinda,Carrie and Fantasia all together ...WOW !
Be nice to see the likes of Bo Brice and Chris Daughterly
rock out together on maybe " walk this way " Hummmm
I think the AS concept would work very well, as long as it was limited to the top 5 of the last 6 seasons ... RESPONSES ??

It might be interesting...
I know they had a World Idol a few years back... They had a bunch of Winners of Idol from around the world competing against each
"In 2003, a World Idol competition was held, with the winners from South Africa, United States, Belgium, Australia, Germany, Norway, Pan Arabia (Arab World), Netherlands, United Kingdom, Canada and Poland.
Kurt Nilsen from Norway was the winner, while Kelly Clarkson from the U.S. was the runner-up."

I would watch it if they did make one. However, I think that it would be a tight race between Kelly and Carrie. Do you ever really hear about the other winners, except for on the show? I hear a lot more about Chris Daughtry these days then I do from past winners.

I think it might be o.k. I really don't think any of the winners would do it. Maybe they could do it with the 2nd place people or something. I thought there were a few of those that should have won anyway.

it wouldn't be good because it is basically saying which winners are the best, when you can just look at the top selling charts of their cd's.
if they did it, it would probably have to be the people who were voted out to early in the game...
example: sundance (this season) and sabrina (this season too, i think its her name)
i would have to say to not pick like any previous top 5 people.
