Actually there is one coming that won't hit for a long time. We are watching it. I can't remember when it would hit, but they won't try and blow it up. they would have a rocket alongside it to create a gravitation pull to pull it away from earth, and let it sail on pass. Watch this video, cuz it talks about it.

i think eventually something is going to happen...im not sure life as we know it on this planet will last forever. however im not sure about the amazingly large comet? it could happen though...i was watching cnn when i was about 10 and they had a news story about a large meteor that was headed for earth in the year 2010 or so?? im not sure...my memory is a bit shaky, but its possible.

Some day it will happen....not in the near future, but we'd be stupid to think it couldn't happen...lots of asteroids out there!
