Hey, Congratulations!

The cost of living in Nigeria depends on where you're coming from [for relative comparison] and where you're going to live in Nigeria. Assuming you're going to be based in Lagos, and you're coming from Europe, you'll find the cost of living pretty ordinary. A can of coke costs about 100 Naira - less than $1. The bottle of coke sold in the U.S. for $1-plus also costs 100Naira in Lagos, so it's a good deal. [The can is often more expensive than the bottle!]

You can get full meal of fried rice, chicken, cole slaw, and ice cream for about $7-$8 at any of the very decent eateries in Lagos.

In Abuja - the capital city, things are about 50% more expensive than in Lagos.

Try to buy most things yourself; use the supermarkets or the established eateries. Asking someone to do the buying for you is simply an invitation to deception. But you'll find most people to be friendly and informed.

Best of Luck.
