My daughter and I are taking part in an indoor garage sale at hour local community center. There will be a large turnout with approximately 35 tables. This is the first time I have ever done anything like this, and have no idea how to price things. I have about 20 Disney VHS movies, but what is a fair price to ask? Odds and ends will be no more than $2, but I also have a lot of books. There is the whole set of The Babysitter's Club books (at least 100 books). Another main item are baby clothes my son has grown out of. I need to figure out how much per item and/or outfit. I have not been to many garage sales and have never participated in one, so this is all new and a lot more work than I thought it would be. Anybody have advice on pricing...it would be greatly appreciated.

I've always heard that a good bargin is made when both the seller and buyer leave happy, so price your items accordingly so that if the buyer wants to haggle a little to feel they got a better price you willl be happy too. Clothes usually go for .25 to 5.00 but a I'd check with a book seller about a price for a whole set of books.

I "garage sale" a lot. I usually get things at around 25% of new cost. Too many people think their stuff is worth gold. They usually end up keeping it because garage sale patrons are looking for bargains or are going to resell the stuff.

If you price stuff at about 10 or 15% of the value of it new you will be able to sell it. Some things if they are particularly nice you can ask a little more.

The Disney tapes I would keep!! Ask about half price, then dicker from there. Also see what others are doing.
