When a new car enters the scene, all the men seem to want to check out whats under the bonnet... they huddle in masses. I think most of them wouldn't even know what they're looking at. Please explain...?

I do know what I am looking at and like to see the advances in engineering, and with a broken car it occurs because everyone has an opinion on what the problem is.

Also on new cars, the main topic of conversation is how difficult it is to work on your own car anymore.

I think you'll find that if one of these men does know something about mechanic the others don't! If they don't want to appear silly so all join in and admire what's in the bonnet same as women will exchange recipes, and give hugs! Men feel so self conscious about their image that they feel under obligation to all huddle and admire even though some of them only do it to feel part of the group. Peer pressure !!!
