I am think of starting up a doogy day care business in the south of England, and was just wondering what people would be prepared to pay for their pets to be looked after by a professional. I am an animal behaviourist and was wondering if people would play more for my servises because of this.

All of your thoughts are relevent, just wondering what you all think. Cheers

I have been paying £5 per day including food, twice a day, my pup goes at 8.00 til 16.30, she is in a kennel a lot of the day, but has a good run out with other dogs and pups in a large run about 11.00 and maybe again in the afternoon, sometimes she sunggles up with a older dog (who is boarding for a couple of weeks while its owners are on holday) for the afternoon if there is a dog who likes puppy company. and my pup loves it... I KNOW THIS TO BE A GREAT DEAL, the breeders/kennel breed the same dog as we have. I THINK MORE DAY CARE CENTRES SHOULD OPEN. I would like my puppy to go a couple of times a week and would be happy paying more if i thought she was getting experiences that she wouldnt get at home. my husband works nights, but is up by 11am, if our dog was left at home then she would fight with the cat and one of them would get hurt. soooooo good luck it sounds great i'd pay up to £8 to day board as long as she wasnt stuck in a kennel all day long. but being a behaviourist I would worry that all the loony dogs in the neighbourhood would be at your day school for you to try and sort them out and they would be teaching my pup bad habits so I'd be careful how you advertise, you may have a class of naughty dogs. play on your experience and professionalism, then qualifications in behaviour

Doing doggy daycare is a great idea, but you can only charge more for IF the owners ask you for advice on behaviour and that sort of thing. I would probably pay around about £10 a day just for day care, but with the other stuff on top, i am not sure.

Good Luck in your venture!
