Check with your school if you need any special functions or program for school on your laptop (certain courses requires certain programs for school and would ask their students to get a certain laptop for school).

If they have no specific requests, any laptop would do. Ask yourself if you're going to be lugging it to school everyday (weight matters, and if you want something light, there's those mini ones!). What is your budget and OS preference (Macs or Windows?)
