live in apartments and am about to purchase a gas grill. i would like to secure it to protect from theft. Is there anyway that I can secure the grill? What tools would be needed? Where can they be purchased? Is it easy to install?

If possible, get a length of chain and a padlock. Make it long enough to wind around several areas of the grill and the propane tank, then secure it to a railing, post , tree, etc. Bit of a pain, but it may work

I secured my grill by buying some chain link and a lock and securing it to my house. But of course, anyone could cut a lock and or chain. Sooooo..actually there really is no way to prevent anything that you keep outside from being stolen, you can only try to make it harder. Maybe the thieves wont bother with it if they have to come back with lock cutters?

Consider a chain and lock to something unmovable.
If nothing exists, perhaps a 4 foot piece of 4X4 post planted in a 18" deep hole filled with cement, then drill a large hole through it for the chain!

You could probably use a chain and padlock and secure it to a railing or light post.

If it's sits on concrete, drill some holes in bottom legs, and bolt it down to concrete. Ask hardware about how to do it. And see if they rent hammed drills, or know where you could.
