Uniform Resource Locater. A DNS, Dynamic Network Server, maps IP addresses to mneumonic names to Ip addesses, plain English. so www.yahoo.ca become a number 134.142.20.1 or something like that. The 192.0.0.1 said above indicates an internal LAN address which is incorrect. It is never mapped to a DNS

URL means Uniform Resource Locator.
It is an nuique address of Websites. Actual URL shows some thing like 192.0.0.1 but it is not memorisable for the humen beings so its corresponding meaning in english show as address. This 192.0.0.1 shows information about the place and and area who took this address.
For examples its works same as your home address which includes your name, area,country etc. Which points only you in the whole world. URL means same but only for the websites in the whole world.
