Ok. I'm never usually this stupid. Last night I opened a file attatched to an email I sent to myself from school (it was the beginning of a research paper). So instead of SAVE i click OPEN which was obviously REALLY stupid. And as i worked on it, I just kept saving it. Then when i went to sleep, I just left the computer on, but it decided to restart itself for some reason. So when i went to print it, everything was gone. I have no idea if it would still be in the temporary files. or where to look. I was up writing it pretty much the whole night and i really need help!!
thanks to whoever knows the answer

You didn't specify what kind of office you use..
If you use office xp or later, it should have an auto save and auto recovery feature. The next time you open Word, it should notify you about the unsaved document (you will have the option to save it). I just don't know if older versions and other word processors have those kinds of features..

Hope i helped.. :p

Sadly the file would be encrypted in any temporary files and can not be accessed this way.
The best bet is to see if you can access it through your Internet history. The page may be there, however there is no way to guarantee the file content, or your alterations.

Sadly it looks bleak, I doubt you will be able to recover the work.

If u r using windows Xp, u can see that file most probably in
WIndows installed drive-->documents & settings-->your login name-->local settings-->temp

if these folders are not visible go to
tools-->folder options-->view-->
tick off hide protected OS files
also select show hidden files and folders
