Participated in a brief uptown club trend in the fast-paced 80's: Wore spiked heels with a sweats (dress length top/elongated pant legs--a whopping $250 combo) and a man's tie tucked in the collared shirt underneath with funky earrings and an armored truck's load worth of bracelets.
I was not alone. But it does not reduce my shame of this painful memory.
Thank the gods, there were NO pictures!

Gotten a flaming Purple mohawk and worn a leather suit as I jumped a mass of cars stalled in traffic. Actuallyl I think this was more of a dare than a fashion statement.
The end result was the same, a lengthy hospital stay.

Several years ago, when really ragged jeans were "the look", I went to a concert wearing a pair of those that had almost the entire backside missing, huge holes in the knees, no underwear, a fishnet tanktop and no bra. And years ago, I used to go swimming every weekend at the lake, wearing bikinis made of shaving foam!!

When permed mullets were in in the mid 80s I was too poor to get it done properly by a hairdresser so I got my mum to do it. My mum isn't a hairdresser.
And I've done the MC Hammer look too. Looked I was wearing psychedelic pyjamas. Thank God no pictures survive.

I shaved a tiny spot of baby hair on the top middle front of my hairline when I was about 12 or 13. I just didn't like it BEING there. I guess I never thought that it might grow back!

By following what fashion says.....I'm a mom, and most of what those dehydrated things on the runway prance around in don't work for me. If I tried to get one of those outfits that fit me, and worked for my budget, .....not going to happen.
Those look nice on the runway, pat yourself on the back whoever made them, those models look great, but it doesn't work in real life.....maybe in that la la land.....
