Call Batman

Two things, right away darlin -
1) An exterminator and
2) A roofer (unless this is an apartment building, then you need to talk to the landlord about a roofer - and you need a general contractor to come check out how they're getting in your ceiling between you and the apartment above.)

You need the exterminator to set the cages for trapping and removing the bats. They'd be getting in through holes in your roofing. Some exterminators will find the holes and put steel wool in them to keep out future bats, but this is only a temporary solution.

You need a roofer to completely examine and locate the holes in your roofing that are allowing the bats to get in. Some are caused by natural weathering of the roof - some are caused my mother nature - some are caused by roof rats eating holes in the roof to get in themselves.

Don't let the roofer sell you a whole new roof - get estimates on just patching the problems. Don't do the whole new roof thing unless they can prove to your satisfaction that this would be the only way to go.

In both cases - call several companies for estimates before ok'ing work, and your better business bureau before settling on a contract. Make sure the low bid you've chosen is by an outfit with a good reputation, so you don't get ripped off.

Ask for a warranty on all work that is done by both.
Bats AND rats are persistent little vixens.

They tend to mark their territory with urine so others know to go there. Get a spray bottle and fill it with white vinegar - and spray down everywhere you think they've been. White vinegar breaks down urine.

Good luck hon. Peace!

Bats are great for keeping bugs away. If it were me I'll just leave them. You need to find out where they are getting in, and then at night plug up the holes. If you do it during the day time they will die inside and stink.

they're lively at evening because they're nocturnal. this implies they sleep in the course of the day and artwork/play at evening. ok, huge form one is Bats are easily sturdy. yet i visit understand your delima. Get your self some moth balls. bypass into the attic or ceiling area and spread the moth balls by the ceiling area. this can eliminate the bats because that's poisenous to them. it may nicely kill one or 2 in spite of the undeniable fact that that's going to clean your ceiling area of those rodents.
