I have to go there later this morning. I would rather be going to the dentist, I think.

It always makes me smile when i see a Q about wal-mart, its a mysterious much talked about store that people either love or hate but are equally passionate about, we dont have them here and so i conjure up all sorts of pitures about the reality of it! its fun, and i bet nowhere near as exciting or mysterious as i imagine it to be!

I don't hate Wal-Mart at all. Probably because I never worked in a store that was put out of business because they couldn't compete with Wal-Mart. I would rather be going to the dentist, if it were just for a procedure that didn't hurt much. My dentist is so beautiful and charming that it is a definite possibility that I have the world's best dentist. If she rented space in a basement office and made her office look like a dungeon, there would be a long waiting list of masochists who wanted to become her patient.
Wal-Mart lacks helpful sales people, but then there isn't anyone there who is trying to make you spend more money than you want to.
I'm surprised that they don't have Wal-Marts in Australia. You can expect that they will be popping up all over the place in the future. They might have a problem finding enough unemployed people to work there for the low wage they pay. If they paid a little more they might get some wogs to work there.

I love Wal-mart. Not everyone wants to waste their hard earned money at the high price stores. I worked for Meijer Thrifty Acres... now there is a h e l l hole. Wal-mart pays more and is more sympathetic to its employees. Big deal they are not union. I belonged to the union at Meijer's and all they did was take my money, never did a thing for making a better work place. The only union worth belonging to is the UAW and that is changing Now they are selling out their members. People it is not the wages of the hourly workers that drive the price of stuff up!!!! It is the cost of upper management. Look at K-mart and see who took off with the loot! How many Ford family members are sitting on their bums doing nothing just because their great great grand daddy was Henry Ford?

I agree. After Sam Walton passed away, Wal-Mart went to Hades in a handbasket.

Oh, boy, I could live at Wal-mart. Literally, too. They've got futons, clothes, food, toys, CD's, DVD's, etc. I spend almost as much time there as I do on Y!A - and trust me, that's A LOT of time!
