Ofcourse I think you can hear the music too..provided you wear on your headfones...hehe...
I have a Creative Zen MP4 player and it plays video and music too as well. So if what you have is an MP4 player-NOT and MP3 player,it shud be able to play both. So check first whether your I-pod is MP3 or MP4..which will depend on it's memory size,I think. In case you are unsure how to check this,look at the product manual. It will give you this info whether both are possible or not on your player.
