Do you know that American citizens are now having to resort to asking Congressmen for help in receiving passports in a timely manner? Do you know that Americans currently without passports (the majority of Americans) are now "legally" (although in violation of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights prior to the passage of the unconstiutional so-called Patriot Act) prohibited from leaving the USA?

Does this state of affairs remind anyone of the former Soviet Union and its oppressive control of its citizens?

That sounds scary but believeable as the system is becoming more and more cumbersome and bureaucratic Before long it will be like others trying to get one in a developing country. I guess everyone should get one now even if you dont "need it" .
I have heard people who lived through eastern block communism saying it sooo reminds them of that They would have to run the water in the kitchen to speak about politics and neighbors would "turn you in" for having any kind of an opinion or even having a conversation i public was dangerous They had to keep to themsleves

I thought you could go to Canada and Mexico with only some id like a driving licence
