Sydney Australia prides itself in having one of the largest Gay Pride Parade's in the world. Do most/any agree. I am from Perth Australia, Our Pride Parade is such a wonderful sight, roads are blocked off so the Parade can proceed. Mothers, Fathers and children come along and it is so wonderful to see little children waving the pride colours. Is this a sign that our next generation will be the most execpting of homosexuality, I sure hope so. Other opinions?

why do the bigots always got to chime in first with their asinine comments? well, I'm in St. Louis. we do have a big pride parade...not as big as Sydney or Chicago or New York....it's just the right size for me! too many more people and it would be too much! but I think it's great! and positive!
sure, there are the jerks like your first few posters....but more and more people are becoming more accepting...and the jerks are in the minority. I definitely think it's a move in the right direction. the next generation or two will prove this....

It IS quite a Positive thing despite what the nay-sayers above tend to think.
The funniest thing is the same tired, disproven rhetoric they use... If someone thinks it's a sin, then that means they shouldn't do it, it has no bearing on others, there are no "straight pride parades because everyday is straight pride day, when was the last time you heard of someone being beaten, denied housing or fired simply for being heterosexual? As far as the "last generation" comment, acceptance and tolerance doesn't mean that someone is gay, will become gay, or has any homosexual inclinations at all, it simply means that they understand that who a person sleeps with has nothing to do with their moral character, that love is not limited to opposite sex couples, and every person should have the right to be with/marry whom they love.

The purpose of delight parades by no ability has been to instruct others that "we are only like all and sundry else." It became and has constantly been approximately self-help. The blatant sexuality does make me draw back, however the very reason we are discriminated against is precisely a sexual distinction at first. I understand the place you're coming from, and an evolution interior the belief in the back of delight is so as, and albeit is occurring. delight purposes (different than the parades) are plenty decrease-key than they was once and aimed in direction of families (usually).

I think that definately as type elapses, you will see future generations that will be more accepting. I know when I was growing up, I never really new same sex relationships existed. Thanks to TV, more and more people are being exposed to the reality. I'm with you....and I hope its a lot easier for future generations of homosexuals.

What is the deal with all the negative responses received from this question! What are these trolls, who have no interest in anything in this subcategory...but bashing. Grow up! If you want to debate the morality of homosexuality, go to the religion/spirituallity category, or else leave it alone.

I am in agreement that it is a wonderful sight. To assume that only gay people participate is foolish. There are many supporters of gay rights that are not gay. They raise their families to be open and honest and loving. That does not mean there are gay children. Parents with gay children, also can support their children by showing that they understand by participating in the parade. You don't have to like it or particiapate in it, but you have to allow us to show that we are proud to be who we are.

Well coming from a bisexual guy I guess its okay. But do people have Straight Pride Parades? I do agree with equal rights to gays but when it comes to public announcing it and getting all in peoples faces I think it can be too much. I asked my man "friend" about this one time. He said basically the same thing. It almost puts homosexuals further away from their goal. People should just accept everyone for who they are and not worry and have parades if they are straight or gay. There should be awareness. I don't think you have to have a parade though.
