I'm not sure about egold, but a merchant account would be something like Paypal. I sell a lot of items on Ebay and use Paypal more than anything else. Yes, you do actually get paid, as long as your buyer pays you. Paypal does take a percentage though, but, I think in the long run it's worth it because it's so easy to pay through Paypal that it's what most people use to pay, so I think you get more buys than if you didn't offer it. Also the percentage Paypal takes is minimal. :) Hope that helps and good luck!
