I live in St. Louis, MO and I have overwintered a wonderful Mandevilla that is doing well. We are have warm weather now and Spring is near. So I put it out on the porch a couple of days ago and it is doing fine. This weekend the weather is expected to get a bit cooler and one night it might get down to 30 degrees. Am I premature in putting the Mandevilla outside? Should I take it back indoors and wait until April?

I don't think Mandevilla can take any kind of a frost. If your porch is protected, it might do OK, but I probably wouldn't chance it. I'm in Nashville and I usually wait until April to put the tender stuff outside.

40 degrees is seriously pushing it fo mandevilla. mine has survived 2 moves, in sw mich. it is not happy unless it is warm, moist and well groomed.
bring it in! mine cost $5+per plant. i'm still seeking a seed source. if yours seeds, bearfox_traders@yahoo.com, send your email and i'll share if mine does. I soooo love them, so do hummingbirds!
