we call EARING WHAT use in our EARS....
my QUESTION IS this
WHY do we call NECKLACE what we wear in our neck .... and not CALLED NECKRING.....
WHY do we call BRACELET what we wear in our wrist .... and not CALLED WRISTRING.....

as if you are calling a dog(with black color) "" COME HERE WHITIE""

To understand this, you need to look at the origin (the etymology) of the words.

"Necklace" originates from around 1590 and is simply a combination of the words "neck" and "lace" where the latter word's original meaning was as in a cord or a string. Thus a "necklace" would be a cord or string worn around the neck - not a ring at all.

"Bracelet" dates from 1437 and comes via Middle French from Old French and is the diminutive form of the word "bracel", which in turn comes from the Latin origin word "bracciale", which meant "armlet". The reason we don't say wrist-ring is simply because the perfectly adequate word we use does not originate from English.

Thats why English is such an interesting language.
