I'm not an educational psychologist, but I do have a degree in it, and I'm going to give you my honest opinion.

Are you thinking of a school psychologist? School psychologist is more typically the term I've heard. While you can get degrees in educational psychology, the school psychologist is the person who administers tests to students, helps develop IEPs, and meets with students, parents, and teachers to implement and evaluate needs and plans.

At the university I went to you could earn a master's degree in educational psychology with a specialist's degree in school psychology. I currently have the master's without the specialist's because I decided partway through the program that it wasn't for me.

If you earn the degree in educational psychology without the specialist's, it's almost a worthless degree. The specialist's is really what makes it worth having, and that will require another three to four years of school (on top of the master's), including a practicum and internship. At least it did at my school.

I didn't go into the profession, so I can't say much more than I already did. Personally, I liked the idea of working with students. I love children, and the idea of administering tests and helping develop IEPs was something I liked. What really got to me most was dealing with parents. I did not want to have to be the person telling the parents negative test results, or work with "difficult" parents to make plans. I know this is not necessarily even the main part of the job, but the more classes I took and the more stories I heard, the more I realized it wasn't for me.

On the other hand, there is a large growth in the field, it pays well, and there is a definite need! Many school districts are short on school psychologists, and most people opt for counseling programs instead, which are easier and less time intensive. If you think the job would be right for you, definitely go for it! Our schools can always use people who are enthusiastic and willing, especially in this particular field.

I hope this helped some. :)

at first, you probably did no longer want a psychologist's opinion he only gave you conventional academic bulls... . There is probably no longer a particular concepts decease or malformation linked with dyslexia as all of us realize it however the subject some face with be conscious and quantity attractiveness is amazingly authentic. I actual have the subject, my father had it and so does my daughter so it runs in families yet no longer all and sundry interior the kinfolk has a similar subject. inspite of the incontrovertible fact that, all isn't lost in view which you could prepare your self to handle it, you only might desire to realize which you have a topic and then develop a approach to handle it. What I did in the time of my expert profession became to examine and double examine each and every thing I had written or calculated in the previous sending or publishing it. that includes something written and spell-checked. you will possibly be able to desire to settle for which you will have maximum possibly made a mistake and objective to spectacular it in the previous freeing your artwork. Dyslexics might desire to artwork extra stable than people to prevail yet prevail they are able to..
