You only have to look at the diets of modern man in comparison to that of people just a hundred years ago.
As other foods become available, the choice widens and people will change according to trends.
The human body is conditioned to seek high fat, high protein and that is why fast food can be so attractive - it is a quick fix. If you go back just a hundred years or so, it was fashionable to be fat as it showed prosperity.
Nowadays, many of us have taken a conscious decision to look after our health better by controlling our intakes, so eating habits are changing again.

Yes!!! As we age are taste buds keep changing. As an older women I can"t eat some of the food that I did when I was younger as the flavor has changed to me. And with the older men I think it is even worse. They now load there food up with salt and pepper because they say the food has no flavoring though you make it the same way you always did. So as the flavor's change in your mouth your way of eating will change too.

They can change, especially if you move in other countries, with different eating habits and different times for the meals. Also if you decide to change them with a specific diet (example become a vegetarian), but I think it takes time in this case too.
