i know just how you feel i am also 13 and have danced for 10 years and i just got out of taking literally every single class that my studio offers.... the only thing i didnt take is ball room... plus i help with classes... its going to be hard but you might have to quite some classes.... i am soo attached to dance it took me several weeks b4 i finally decided ya know i kinda wanna have a social life.... so i just cut back on two classes... if you dont want to take alot away maybe wat you can do is just take away 1 day... then you can take that day to hang out with your friends also try to spend time with your friends on weekends... but watever you do dont quit dance just bcause your friends say you dont hang out with them enough... i have had soo many people tell me i dont have enough free time i should quit but ya know in my opinion they dont have to go to every single performance and just totally and completely support you but a real friend wouldnt pull you away or even try to pull you away from the thing you love...
hope i helped!!!!!

Do you WANT to be doing something else (or are you just stating a fact)? Is your schoolwork suffering because of all the time you spend with ballet? If you say "yes" to either question, then you should definitely cut back on your dancing. 13 is still the age when you should be exploring ALL your interests before your childhood zips by and it's too late.

Are you in a pre-professional dance program that requires the full set of 5 times a week? Meaning, are your class times all-or-nothing? If you're not able to cut back on class times at your current studio, you might have to switch to a less intense studio so that you can take fewer classes. You can always go back to more classes in a year or so, but if you're wishing to do other activities, you really owe it to yourself to give those activities a try.

first of all you are too young to do ballet 5 times a week, unless you are in the Royal Ballet School. are you going to take ballet as a professional career. If so i understand why 5 times a week, but personally i think its still a lot. Enjoy your teenage years before you know that they have passed so soon. cut down on your classes!!

hey, I've been in the same position when I was young. Obivously, you really love ballet. Maybe you should invite your friends to join your class. Then, you can spend time with your friends while doing the thing you love most. If not, you could limit your ballet to four times a week and then join another activity that your friends are interested in. Also, look in to joining other clubs that meet on weekends.

if you want to do ballet professionally, this is something what you have to do, but if not try to reduce your classes. I also had ballet five times a week, didn't have a lot of time but didn't sorry for that at all :-). just see what is important for you in your life

Sounds like you have to give up something!
How about sleep?
No?
Then how about food, personal hygiene, school, etc...?
No?
Then you have very little left to choose from. Maybe it isn't that you have too much going on, but rather you would like to be able to do more? Like socialize? Natural, but if your schedule is full, you will have to clear something to make room for something more. This is one of those ugly things in life - having to make tough choices. Try to look long-term to see how any choice you make may impact you later. Your life will be long and every 'today' you have builds your 'tomorrow'.
