I left it torn and broken, bleeding and alone on the blacktop road. It was an illusion that night, it looked silvery; snaking through the rolling country under a full white moon.
But that is where I left it. Tiny Joe was at the wheel and I sat on the other side of the cab. A fifty four International running down the highway, a fully loaded trailer, and I was ignorant of the knowledge. We had no brakes.
But I remember leaving it on the road that night, I remember it laying on the centre line atop the reflective paint; broken.
That's where I left it unkown to Bonnie and the bahsterd child of mine she carried to term; she carried away from me. That was the night I left it there, and only God and I knew it. Now only God knows the place and the road. I have let the location slip from my hands these past thirty five years, I have forgotten the highways number but not where I left it.
I left it on the highway, in the late hours of the night, the early hours of the morning, the youth of my life .....I left it there.

Well I'm sure it was on the sink in the bathroom, but I'm guessing that one of the kids moved it again, and now I have no idea where it is.
