It will then be an offence to smoke in the workplace. She's an actress at work. Will it also apply to films made in the UK?

Ah but...if she's outside on a set which is actually outside, she's not in an enclosed space so she could puff away. Unless 'workplace' is defined by the inside of the building and the perimeter thereof. But if I havent given up by then, I shall still have a cig in the back yard at work cos no bugger can see me there, its surrounded by a high wall so even the thought police cant get me. Unless.....

They will have to do something about it as they are supposed to depict real life. In a newspaper at weekend there was a scene written that she offers Ken a ciggy but he refuses in the scripts he was suppose to smoke it but Ken Roche refused.
I think you will see Dierdre puffing her ciggy outside her house in back yard and Liz remember no smoking in the pub either.
Also did you know if you have someone come to your own home to fix television or whatever you will have to stub it out or the person entering your home is within the law to not enter and do the job if they object to the smoke.
This new law is going to be fun and cause a lot of rows I think.
I used to smoke but gave it up last year however not smoking in your own home is harsh!

Smoking was supposed to be banned in the late 70's and early 80's on Uk Television, this never stopped them!

That's a really good question it will be interesting to see how programmes deal with this issue as producers like to be as close to real life as poss(yeah right!) America is really stricked on no smoking ban so assume it will be same if you make a movie over here

Television is a law unto itself. Don't think it will make any difference to them.
