Here's a nice page on University of East London that teaches you how to create use case diagrams, class diagrams, sequence diagrams, collaboration diagrams and state-chart diagrams in Rational Rose:
http://homepages.uel.ac.uk/D.Bowden/

You'll require flash player to view the tutorials. If you want non-flash tutorials, try these:
http://www-128.ibm.com/developerworks/rational/library/769.html
http://pigseye.kennesaw.edu/~dbraun/csis4650/A&D/UML_tutorial/use_case.htm

If you don't have Rational Rose, you can try a free tool such as Dia ( http://www.gnome.org/projects/dia/ ), ArgoUML ( http://argouml.tigris.org/ ) or Umbrello ( http://uml.sourceforge.net/index.php ).
