Our office borrowed a computer whiz Monday afternoon to sort out some third-party software issues. When we came in Tuesday am, we discovered that the server now beeps, a single short beep EVERY 5 seconds.
I can't find anything similar on the help boards or in the BIOS beep codes.
It's annoying, but the boss (who's hard of hearing) insists that we leave it on because his machine works fine. How big is the risk to do so? And what can I do to fix the problem?

Overheating doesn't seem to be an issue. Two mornings, 55*F office.

And it's not the siren beep that's supposed to signal over-heating.

Clock is fine, all software is normal and operational. CMOS seems to be fine as well.

Which suggests that it's not the motherboard battery. At least from what I've been able to google up.

It really sounds like the server security software needs to be configured. It sounds like after the tech sorted out the software issues he may have failed to configure the security software and its basically telling you to check it out... Whoever has admin rights needs to log on to the server from a workstation and check it out.
