I don't know his real thoughts on minorities, but I also don't think it matters, I'm more intrigued as to why they are doing it. The only thing I can figure out is that he might have some nagging injuries that they want to rest for the MITB match.
UPDATE!
I checked around and what I found out was Edge suffered a fractured jaw while wrestling Rob Van Dam a few weeks back. He's not expected to wrestle until Wrestlemania.

Nice storyline to me. It's actually pretty funny! When he did it in Arizona because of them not honoring MLK B-Day was hilarious!
He could have an injury that's preventing from wrestling until 'Mania.

even though i am an african american, i luv the gimmick. it's funny as hell and establishes him even further as one of the top heels in the business right now.
