I have a Netgear WG111TGE flash drive inserted into USB. And a British Telecom Wireless Router. I used the software supplied by Netgear and have established a wireless connection to the BT hub at 54 Mbps.

However, when I click on internet explorer it says connect or work offline? I've made sure that the tools - internet options are not marked work offline and never to dial a connection but it still does not work. I've tried running the network setup wizard also. ?? Any ideas???

Check network connectivity first

Check at the network level to see if you have a router IP address.
select 'start' then 'run'. Type in CMD and hit OK.

type in IPCONFIG at the prompt, and see if you have an IP address, and gateway. If you do, then the networking configuration is OK

type in 'PING yahoo.com' and see if it returns a response. If it does, your internet connection is working, and the problem is in Internet explorer
