They are letting people out of their contracts for this month only so you need to phone customer service ASAP. or if you wanted to stay, they are offering the supreme package (Every Channel apart from Movies and Sports) for the price you are currently paying for 6 months. So we decided to do that and then we are going to leave in September. We have the phone and broadband package with them but we could only leave the TV, which would have cost us more money in the long run.

I feel the same, I'm mad as hell about losing Sky one, but Virgin are trying to sort it, according to their website they are taking Sky to court over this so I'm going to wait for the outcome before I do anything rash. If Virgin get the channels back I'm sure they will do a catch up of the programmes missed.

Virgin say they're happy to stop your contract, but please don't cave in!! I'm missing Lost and 24 too, but it's not Virgin's fault, it's Sky's! Murdoch's demands are completely unreasonable and at the expense of the consumer. By switching, you'll be giving them the license to do this again in the future.
Sky is also more expensive than Virgin. Save your pennies and buy the 24 and Lost boxsets when they come out!

I switched - i phoned sky next day and had it re-installed within a week with 3 months half price.
i haven't ended ntl yet, but will do after april (need to keep their internet for a while)... the best way to get out of it will be to cite a breach of contract. i was very specific when i initially signed up to ntl to confirm that sky1 was included... that's why i signed up as i have built in freeview on my tv and now ntl has no sky, there's no point to it really. this is what i'm gonna say in order to get out of my contract early.

Because virgin are actually default with their contract you can cancel even if your time is not up yet...however I kinda agree with a lot of the other comments here...sky are the ones at fault here so why should we reward them with our money...they are economic bullies...well thats what my daughter says anyway....must admit though...really want to change from virgin, purely cos the cost seems to go up and up and the service is getting poorer and poorer.

try going onto www.sky.com/switch
But unless you're 12 months are up on Telewest I really dont think you can do much about it.
Failing that, go on Ebay and get a chipped box for £100
