One single powerful processor consumes more energy and generates more heat then multicore processors. A multicore processor will also be faster since there are multiple processors to handle the data manipulation instead of having to use timesharing.

if they done that where would they go next,,,but if they drip feed us any new technology they make money....its like mobile phones,,eventually there goin to run out of ideas,,so they make us think the phone/PC you bought last year is crap and you better get a new one...eg microsoft vista,,the I phone..
