I have a '02 VW beetle Turbo S. And i have to say that this car is quite the sleeper. Very, very quick has great handling and gets off the line better than alot of cars out there especially stock cars. At the track this car does 0-60 in 6.9. Ive beaten the likes of grand prix gtp's and ford taurus SHO's, and lets not forget those little honda rice burners i can take in 1st without even trying. Ive beaten eclipse gt's and tiburons with little difficulty. ive even kept...lost but kept up...with a subaru impreza wrx..not the sti. And mt car is stock with 180hp turbo engine. by the end of summer this car will have over 250hp....evo's here i come.

the avg of my 1/4 times is 14.9 sec with the fastest being 14.8. and i know its doesnt mean anything to be able to keep up but come on a beetle keep up with a wrx thats saying alot. and ive done both track and street races. I tend not to try and get street races that often, atleast I dont initiate, i know what i have and i have nothing to prove. the only time that i usually race on the street is one some punk who thinks he has a fast car revs his engine and talks smack i hate that stuff .... the race against the gtp and the sho were on the track in a 1/4mi race

You said the key words, turbo and VW. Light body with a turbo engine. Yes you would defninately beat these other cars because of power to weight ratio. I had a tricked out Saturn SL2 once that could take 92RS Camaro (305 V8) and a whole lot of Hondas. I never clocked it like you have but had a whole lot of fun with the car. Reprogrammed ECM and Flowmaster exhaust with Bosh Platinum two spark plugs, Zoot performance clutch. Sound simple? You bet, that was the beauty of it. Sleeper is just that, wake it up when it is time to come off the line.

Ok, so you go 0-60 in 6.9, but you didn't give your 1/4 mile time. Lots of cars can do 0-60 in 6.9. And keeping up with a car doesn't mean a thing to a racer. They don't give prize money to the guy who "kept up with" the winner. Not to mention, were all your races at the track, or were they street races where the other guy didn't know you were racing or didn't want to race? Not to take away from your car, they are pretty quick, but racing is not all car. I've seen quite a few kids with fast cars get beaten by racers in pick-ups. So let's see the 1/4 mile times and we can compare. And what they heck, maybe we'll even meet at the track someday.

Edit: For stock, that isn't bad. My '90 Eclipse GSX ran 14.3 @ 94.92 mph. Stock. Good luck with the EVOs, as I've seen them run into the 8 second range.
