Yes, I found it to be very frustrating at first. I eventually realized that many of the Answers community are not native English speakers. Many are very young, as well. I try to remind myself of these things, but it's still maddening for those who can speak correct grammatic English.

Yes , but i have noticed that the spell check doesnt work on long answers so when I have been in a hurry and unable to spell check.. at few spelling/typos get through. So far as grammar goes I must admit that its a topic that has always irked me and while no one has ever told me that there is anything wrong with my grammar i do think its nots 100% but - hey no ones perfect.
Forget the grammar, have you seen some of the questions that are so poorly spelt with few words and limited info so that no one is game to even try to decipher the question.

This bothers me too. Just think that I use a dictionary cause I hate to misspell. I'm Italian, and I grew up in the US till I was 11 yrs old. And still I can spell and write better than a few answerers here! :-)
It bothers me in Italian language too. A lot of people don't pay attention on how they write! And there is a "check spelling" here too!
I just don't answer to the questions I don't understand.

It bothers me too but there's no point in trying to get people to change here. Some of them are poor spellers and many words are spelled phonetically. Then there's the issue of text speak being used - but don't get me started on that one. Some are desperate to get points and best answers and unfortunately, grammar and spelling are not on their list of priorities. But try as you will, that's not going to change in a hurry and despite the fact that it's unfortunate, it's also inevitable that it will continue.

I know what you mean. It bothers me, too.
As the saying goes: "It's all Greek to me."
Some of the questions as well as the answers are really difficult to understand.
I always read what I write before submitting it. I feel that since I'm here to offer some 'advice', I should at least try to make others understand what I'm trying to say.
P.S. I'm Greek!!

It gets up my nose too, but that seems to be the way education is going. Down the toilet! Literacy and numeracy are old hat. Sad, VERY sad!

It's not just you. Everyone doesn't pride themselves on speaking well, or clearly representing their ideas in writing. It's a matter of personal preference.

Yes, it bothers me as well.
I think school teachers need to do literacy tests!
That's where it all stems from.
