Did you know this? It has been reported that anyone who refuses to have an ID card will be unable to leave the country.

http://www.infowars.net/articles/march2007/130307ID.htm

Plus of course the Government's plans are to make EVERYTHING reliant on the ID card, ie purchases etc... so basically its a 'voluntary' scheme but if you opt-out you just won't be able to have a house/car/bank account/anything!! But its still voluntary!!

I cannot find the words to describe how angry and physically sick to my stomach this Big Brother government is making me feel. We are living under an authoritarian regime similar to the old Soviet Union, yet many people are blissfully unaware of it.

If you refuse to give the Government details of every aspect of your life and then let them control you, you will be refused a passport and thus become a prisoner in your own country.

What do you think about this? Please tell everyone you know - we HAVE to fight this!!!!!

Sorry I forgot to mention that the government will also have the power to enter and search your home at will for identity card evasion. Failure to comply will result in a HEAVY fine, but even if you DO comply the scheme will still set you back £200-300.

That's a disgrace! I never knew any of this. I will be telling everyone about it. We should all get together and rebel against it!

Hi! Buck,

Don't worry, Identity cards are an excellent idea conceived by our Communist New Labour leaders, Identity cards will solve everything? The German Nazi's and the Russian Stalinist s had them and what glorious countries they turned out to be under those regimes. The good side is it will make it easier to find you and since Blair has had the starting of a secret police force going for some time, perhaps the next step will be torture chambers to help you relax. As I said don't worry so much

To Jeeper
That maybe so Jeeper but that is the banks right but it leaves the right for me to not join the bank without being punished in other areas. I'm not as free as i would like but any further restrictions are not on as far as I am concerned.

I detest the conception of identity playing cards, in spite of the undeniable fact that that's no longer the identity playing cards that are a difficulty, that's the nationwide id sign up which will carry each of the options on each body it truly is the terrifying issue. In April next year, the overall sign up workplace, which registers births marriages and deaths in the united kingdom, will be merged with the id and Passport service, who will ultimately take care of identity playing cards. So there'll be no escaping from it, once a infant is born they are going to bypass onto this huge database, for some thing else of their lives. i'm in no way tender with the authorities having the potential to criminalise those who settle on they don't need to open up the finished of their inner most lives to a authorities and politicians they don't have self assurance. because the lacking CD's with each of the options about infant earnings has shown, the bigger the database, the bigger the chance at the same time as 'mistakes' ensue. i'm no longer a terrorist or a violent criminal, so i do not see why I should be dealt with like one.

Poor, misguided 'Jeeper P'. All current forms of I.D provide are confirmation of your name , address and possibly, age. The government propose to store private and personal details which are of no interest or value to anyone other that those who might seek to control our movements, lifestyles, finances, thoughts and opinions. Even if you belive the current governmet to be benign, once these details are on record they are there for any future administration to abuse. Also vulnerable to computer savvy identity criminals too. Yes..wake up out there..our very freedom is at risk.

Ah tell me, just how would anyone buy a car NOW, without a ID card of some kind ?

Unless they are paying cash for some clunker, then they would still have to have ID to register that car.

Have you ever heard of anyone opening a bank account without any ID ?

I sure haven't.

Just how do you buy a house, without getting a mortage ?

Just how do you get a mortage loan, without any ID now ?

So I'm wondering, just what you are so upset about, everything you listed that you would have to have an ID to buy or do, you have to have an ID NOW to buy or do, so what changes ?

The government not restricting, halting, or harrassing law-abiding citizens during intra-country traveling is a cornerstone of a free society. The national ID (coming soon in America too) is the first step towards, "May I see your papers, please?" and it should be resisted at all costs.

To Biblically Based Christians this has been taught as the coming MARK of the BEAST
and it is now HERE---think of it as you will
it is the setting in motion of the one world government
that will eventually kill off all individual thinkers and people
of any truth based faiths !! To not see this is to be blind
and to not resist it is to be sheep ready for slaughter !!!

That's what they told us about the "selective service". Its voluntary also (not sure about now). But if you don't sign up then you are basically cut off from the country.
