I think the Luxor is absolutely incredible. It's number 3 on my list of must see LV hotels, behind only Caesars Palace and the Venetian.

Very nice swimming pool(s), a very good buffet, a nice food court on the second level, one of the hottest nightclubs in Las Vegas "Ra". Convienient Monorail to Mandalay Bay and Excalibur for strip exploration.

Cool stuff like King Tut's Tomb, exactly recreated as Howard Carter found it.

Even the elevators to the rooms in the Pyramid are cool, they call them "inclinators" because they go up the side of the pyramid at an angle, it's kind of an odd sensation, especially if you stand in the middle of the inclinators.

I like the pyramid rooms better than the tower, just because it's cool to stay in the world's largest pyramid> The rooms are actually a little smaller in the pyramid(370sq ft)< If you go when it's really slow, you have a chance to upgrade to one of the Pyramid suites at a bargain or by using the $$$ trick(something I have explained many times on here>search my answers if you like). The Pyramid suites are 800sq ft and have a jacuzzi tub built up into the corner of the room(awesome view).

I have the following promo codes for online reservations at the Luxor - >PGET18< good for rates as low as $69 until May 31st. The best rates are around the first of April, the 1st -6th are all $69 per night. If you call the 800 number ask for the "Early Spring Getaway" PC for phone reservations is >PDGET18<

The only other 4 star hotel that "regularly" has deals anywhere near the Luxor is the Golden Nugget.

We go to LV 2-3 times a year for 2 weeks or more at a time and have for over 20 years. Yes we have stayed at the Luxor and we visit everytime we go, like I said it's #3 on our must see list so we check it out everytime. If you don't mind a little walk>you're going to be doing a lot of that anyway< the walk from Luxor to Mandalay Bay is kind of nice >all indoors, through the shops< .

I personally love the Luxor. The rooms are nice and the lobby/casino area is impressive. There are plenty of bars/restaurants and other attractions both on the property and at nearby casinos (MGM Grand, Mandalay Bay, NYNY)

Most people who complain about Luxor stayed in the 'pyramid' rooms. Because of the slanted wall, those rooms have a claustrophobic feel to them that some people cannot overcome. Book yourself for a tower room if this sounds like it may cause a problem for you.

However, the jacuzzi suites in the pyramid are very cool, with the jacuzzi up against the window overlooking the Strip or valley. And the inclinators-- elevators that go at an angle-- are neat also.

You can learn more about their property at their official website:

As a travel agent for over 16 years I can happily recommend the Luxor. It is in a great location on the strip and every customer I have sent there has loved it and recommended it to friends and family.

It is usually a great cost so you really cant go wrong. If you are given a choice between the Luxor and the Circus Circus I would choose the Luxor every time.

I hope this helps

I've been in the Luxor and a few others whilst I was staying at The Ballagio ..... To be honest - any of those major hotels on the strip are brilliant and if you're like me you'll hardly be in your hotel room anyway. You tend to find prices across the board are fairly reasonable because they just want to get you in to their casino's

You'll have a great time ... Just watch for all the call girls on the street!!

The Luxor was fine and the breakfast buffet was also really nice. It's just not as new as some of the other hotels and it is quite dark inside (compared to Bellagio, for example). There were no shops to speak of other than a hotel kiosk. It suited our short stay just fine.

I stayed there in 1999 and my mom and I loved it. The room was FAB, and the hotel itself was clean and well-maintained. Security was top-notch too. We were in line for the elevator to go up to our room one night and there was a bunch of drunk rowdy guys ahead of us, and security had us wait for the next elevator so we didn't get in there with the drunks.
