Yes, but it's not all that useful, since a lot of our energy is wasted. However, it could be used for things like implants, artificial body parts or other devices like pacemakers.
Certainly nothing like in The Matrix, humans are too inefficient for that.

There may be a reference somewhere comparing horsepower to "human power". How long the human power could be sustained would be a matter of training, diet ,periods of rest, etc. This has probably been done somewhere.
An experiment you might do is find an exercise bike that registers the energy being expended and make your own assumptions and calculations. Or ask Lance Armstrong.

only done a bit - push bikes sometimes use lights which work by peddling - thus converting your energy into electricity to make the light work
some shoes have lights in which light up when you walk - i could be wrong here but i guess they convert your foot motion to electricity ( i dont think they use batteries)

I believe there is, and I have an idea how to achieve this. However, I do not want to give my idea to someone who will use it purely to make money, I would rather it was put into use for the benefit of man kind.
If you have any ideas on how we could get this idea into the public sector, without it being stolen by a large corporation, get in touch.

You know a water wheel. Connect it to a generator and spin it mechanically. Unfortunately it's not economically viable since human labor costs are so high.
