Margaux (marr-go).

Most likely my child will be raised in Baden-Baden Germany (I'm eyeing their elementary school for years!), 12mi from France border. French names are quite common over there. However, my husband is American, I don't want our child to have a weird name in America.

Margaux won't be weird in America. In fact, it might start a new trend. I think it's a cute name!

It's my sister's middle name! Named after the wine. My dad bought a case of the wine whcih matures on her 21st birthday! As she's still young she's a bit embarrassed by it, but I think it's really nice. You have a lot of choice to shorten it as well. Maggie is nice for a little girl, a little old fashioned, but retro becuase of that?

I don't think it's weird. I went to school with a Margot. Definately not a common name. I like your spelling very much.

no margaux sounds like a very nice name. It sounds very professional and sophisticated, who cares if other people think its weird focus on the positives, their probably just jealous anyway!

It sounds 50-ish to me. A bit classy. I bet it would work good in both places. Better than naming your kid Dakota, Maddox or Shiloh. ('_')v -peace!

The spelling isn't American, but the name isn't unusual here. I don't think anyone will find it weird. The actress who named her daughter "Apple" is weird (and American).
