The best way is to talk to your boss/manager and explain to him that you need to get onto such and such site to accomplish tasks. The sites are usually blocked when the network is set up and your boss would have to ask the network admin to unblock the site.

Depending on the site though, they may refuse to unblock it.

Aloha from Down Unda!

It may be necessary for your system administrator to be contacted to 'enable' the following clicks!

'Tools' > 'Internet Options...' > 'Privacy' tab > 'Sites...' tab ~
Enter [or click on] the site & 'Allow' > OK > Apply > OK

Be sure to have the begining 'http://' & the end '.com' included!

Best wishes ~

1) Change jobs

2) Ask the company to unblock them id you *need* them

3) Use a web anonymiser and risk getting dismissed for accessing blocked sites.

Is it so really worth surfing banned sites that you'd risk your job?

You can always go through a proxy. There's a huge list on http://proxy.org/ that you can try.

Of course you must know that you COULD be fired for trying to outsmart the blocks.
