Good question.

Poorer people generally have more morals and humility. Rich people have ''been there, done that''. They have so much money they can travel the world and try out new things.
Poorer people must live with what they have got. They are more inward looking and respectful cos they work really hard for money.

A poor guy might get $200 at week whereas a rich guy might spend that much in one evening on one glass of champagne or something.

Result? MONEY REALLY CANNOT BUY HAPPINESS.

sorry its in capitals, wanted it to stand out *lol* ;D

Get too much into materialistic things. Problem with starting to want stuff or getting stuff, some just always want more. Some poor people don't think of that stuff & spend their time loving each other instead of things. And loving time spent together instead of loving what extravagant thing they can do together. And that's a generalization. You could put some rich and poor people into those boxes.

Added:
There are rich and unhappy, rich and happy, poor & happy, & poor & unhappy. And that'd also depend on how poor they were. Some people I've heard, get disallusioned & sad that with money (like winning the lottery or becoming rich & famous) doesn't always make for peace & happiness.

Really? ask those people living in the third world countries,i'm sure you saw it on t.v. or any homeless people out there or the below minimum wages people.and you tell me,compare to those living in condos,in the oceanfront homes. Of course, all people have problems regardless if you are rich or poor, but more problems with the poor people coz,you don't have money to buy medicines, foods and those basic things, and the rich don't have such problems except maybe less happy and less love and so with the poor, they are not all loving families as well as you might they are. So if i were given a chance,i'll pick the rich,so i can help the poor and i will be more happier, right?

You are going to get answers like money doesn't buy happiness.

I think it helps.

But happiness, comes from within. You have to go out into the world in a positive frame of mind.

How do you know iff rich people are happy or not?

Some probably are.

I know for sure, that some poor people are unhappy.
Its bloody hard work, trying to make ends meet, trying to feed your kids, trying to hold down a job. Thats not my sense of happiness.

No I dont think you can generalize like that.

Perhaps poor people learn to appreciate the things that matter most, which happened to cost less and are priceless.

Hmmmmm...as I have known both ends of the spectrum, I can say that I don't feel that you have an accurate hypothesis. Neither seems any happier or less happy than the other, in general.

Whoever told you that/ made that claim?

If only given two choices, I would rather be rich n unhappy than poor and unhappier.

Wealth brings great conveniences and comfort.

You really think it makes you happy to be poor? Not being able to buy food or can not afford a doctor or medicine for your child, nor having a proper shelter for your family? I think your assumption is wrong is not show me your information.

It doesn't matter if you are rich or poor.
