HR stands for HUMAN RESOURCES, it is the modern name for the Personnel department of an organisation. These are the people who recruit new people to an organisation, set out their salary and conditions and deal with disputes between employees and managers. They may also be involved with training, pensions and payroll functions.

A job placement is where someone in full-time education gets the chance to spend a week or two in the real world of work, act like a grownup rather than a kid and try out different types of work.

Expect to learn how to photocopy, file in strict alphabetical order and shadow other peoples working day. Will look great on your CV when you go to College or get a job.

HR stands for Human Remains. The purpose of a position in the HR department is to justify the existence of the department itself. This is done by making sure it can meddle in the business of every other department in the organisation.

Working in close partnership with the Business prevention manager the HR department has the task of slowing down the momentum and increasing the stress of any employee. It is a carrot and stick approach with the false impression that they are aiding the employees career progression while reminding everybody that they are just a replaceable resource. Thus an organisation can waste its own valuable time by making employees do meaningless personal development, bel bins, motivation courses and other forms of training.
The department also has to make sure it can maximse its grip on power by constant nannying and meddling in the form of documents to sign and personal information it must have under the pretext of new legislation.

Finally HR has to makie sure the frequency of redundancy's is high enough to justify the need for the high level of activity required to hire new staff.

Don't work in HR, everyone despises them!
