SenoritaFartsALot here to save the day! It doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that healthy foods along with your prenatal vitamins are the wisest choice of all. I ate lots of fish and vegetables, salads...and mexican food! The fun part about what you eat while you are pregnant is interesting because I have noticed my children's favorite foods are mainly what I ate when they were in my tummy!

As mentioned already, eat lots of fresh vegetables and fruits and make sure your calcium intake is more than adequate.

Milk can be a problem for some people. It is a good source of calcium but it is not very easy to assimilate. And some babies react to it (even before they are born). It is one of the commonest allergens, after all.

Other sources include broccoli and sesame seeds but a supplement is worhwhile, too. Get one which also supplies magnesium as they work synergistically. magnesium and calcium are both good for increasing our tolerance to pain, so it's good to make sure that they are adequately supplied one way or another.

Also make sure you get enough iron from natural sources (meat; prunes; tomatoes) because the kind of supplements that doctors dole out often give you constipation. Floradix is a good natural supplement.

Eat lots of green veg as it contains folic acid, important for spinal development of the unborn baby.

Other than that, the usual advice for a good diet: avoid too much fatty, sugary junk and enjoy your food. Good luck!
