Oh dear, I have a few gay friends and a gay sister.... I wonder if they will catch "straightness" from watching straight movies... it would devastate them!
Just kidding...
What kids watch whether it is violence, a charitable heart movie from hallmark, Osama Bin Ladin or Bush, gays, straight... is all neutral.... the key turning point for them is wonderful parents like you who take their welfare to heart and seriously should guide them by letting them know that being gay is neither bad nor good as long as it does not harm anyone, it is just like the way some kids like Orange Juice whilst other kids like Apple Juice...

I'm not sure if its bad for our children, but gays now make up a big part of our society. I'm not sure if they've always been here. But it safe to say that homosexuality has increased over the past decade.
Growing up my parents never had any gay friends. I'm in my mid twenties and I now have my first gay friend. I don't condone his sexual behavior, but he's still a friend. And as much as I want to keep homosexuality from my three own son. The odds are, he'll probably have several gay friends by the time he graduates high school. Gays seem to be coming out of closet younger and younger.
As a Christian I teach my son to love the person and hate the action, so I can't be upset if my child befriends a gay person. As long as he doesn't participate in that persons lifestyle. Getting back to the television issue gays are considered a minority in this country and they wish to be represented like Blacks, Hispanics, Asians or even women. I really wouldn't be surprised if a Homosexual channel popped up in the next five years.

Seeing as about one in ten people is gay according to government statistics, it is an everyday thing to have a gay friend in your life. Perhaps you don't know which of your friends is gay, but at least one of them probably is... ;)
Children grow up to be adults, and will have to deal with all sorts of people in their lives. There is no reason why it should be any better or worse for them to see gay people than to see straight people.
Nor is there any reason to think that being aware of a certain lifestyle will influence their own lifestyles later on. You can't create desire where it doesn't exist, and the kids will find their own way.
If you teach your kids that all people are created equal, and bring them up not to discriminate on the basis of nationality, race, sex, sexuality, religion etc, that's the best thing you can do for them.

Showing gays on tv shows for entertainment may be bad for everybody. It may be more bad for our own kids as it may give them the idea of fancy models of imitation.
Males may be morbidly attracted towards other males, but that has never been the primary and healthy scope of Nature. A great risk would be for homosexuality to become a fancy fashionable trend, like piercing one's navel, so that most people would go around bluntly "playing" gay because gay is fine.
In good old biblical terms being gay is utmost sinful, utmost perverted. The Bible says to be gay is abominable, and gays shall be exterminated already in this life because of their perversion (f.ex. Leviticus, 18-20).
But if we are not interested in the biblical admonitions we may anyway look at Nature and so see that it is sort of utmost anomalous to be gay, that it is a deviation, that it doesn't serve the essential purpose of nature, that it is connected with immediate health risks.
Then we might say that it is unjust, unfair, to bluntly advertise as good and funny that which is anomalous, deviatory, perverted. And so we might add that it would be wise to keep our kids away from entertainment with such a perverted aspect of life, in the same way as we may want to keep our kids away from unhealthy habits, away from any other dangerous behavior.

Yes it is very bad and that is why it is so important to be militant when it comes to where your money is spent, who you allow in power...a few non-believers are running the entire media. People with like minds need to compete against them. Do what they are doing and beat them at their own game. Have movies made where gays are exposed as evil doers, abnormal, etc. They are molding young minds by making movies and shows that say it's OK. Do the opposite. Spiritually speaking, the populace is gullible. People have to be united against these things.

No, why should it be. My 9 year old grandaugher watches Will and Grace and loves the show as we all do. She has worked out herself that in reality whether people like it or not there is homsexuality and what a great show for kids to learn from. No violence, no visual sex, why not? Lets them learn in a gentle and non bigoted way.

Watching racists, idiots, and selfish self-indulgent self-obsessed "celebrities" is bad for our kids,....if they're going to end up considering this as normal behaviour.
Watching gays? So what?! Being gay is nothing to be worried about, unless, in addition to being gay you are also one of the adjectives above!

Sometimes we are unable to comment, but where do we place them when TV shows are running? We are left with shame on our faces, especially when asked funny questions by our young ones.We have no place to hide ourselves? We face reality and teach our children to differentiate bad from good. That is the reason why we go to school to earn knowledge to enable us eleminate ignorance.
