Damn there are alot of people on this site who dont know **** about MJ/Basketball.....It was a gradual process because MJ had to develop his midrange and perimeter game.He really had to work on bieng a consistent shooter because he didn't really have a good shot (consistent)coming out of college. So yes it was a gradual process.....but around the age 28-29 is when his fadeaway was becoming his go to move.

ps: He never "hurt his leg"...he hurt his ankle when he was 22(his second year in the NBA) but that had no bearing on his J.

hope I answered your ?

around 21 years old.. after breaking or some kind of bad injury on his leg got him. after recovering he started to stop going to the hoop and instead went for the fade away jump shots.

I think it is really the time when he came back from retirement (ie baseball). He was not as atheletic as before but he had really focused and developed a really great jump shot. He knew it all the way as he wouldn't be able to sky through everyone at that age anymore!

He did it some in college, but he started using it more often after he hurt his leg.
