1988 Mitsubishi eclipse hesitates badly on acceleration. completely cuts out until easing up on throttle why?

Whatever the model of car, there's a good chance your fuel filter is clogged. Could also be throttle position sensor.

Sounds like a bad fuel pump to me.

I think your problem is your car dosn't actually exist. Eclipses wern't made till 1990.
