Many make the mistake of believing that once they create a blog, people will immediately flock to it. There are millions out there so why would they visit your blog?

Contrary to the first answer, you cannot use Yahoo Answers to create links to your blog because YA has a "NOFOLLOW" tag that tells search engines not to follow any URLs found here.

1. make sure that you update your blog on a regular basis, this will be picked up by the search engines and your blog will appear higher in the lisitngs when people search blogs
2. make sure that you stick to your chosen subject and the keywords that are focussing on

4. use a tool like Zoodoka to tell your blog readers about updates

6. do not plan on retiring on your google adsense revenue

Hi,

You could get traffic to your site by joining related forums, which means you should be talking/meeting people who are interested on what you are selling. The thing here is that you should build your own community by taking to the right people on the right places.

Also, you may want to try to submit your url/link to search engines and directories so people would know your site once they do their search. Most of these directories and seach engines are free anyway.
